Last day: Reflection

Through unit 2 I haven't had that much trouble finding primary sources for my paper. The Arizona immigration law is a extremely popular topic that many people in the world feel very strongly about hence the reason why there's so much information on it. The only real challenge that I was presented with was actually finding my third source. My first and second text chosen was the common perspective of Republican/Democrat, however my third was an outsider who takes perspectives from both sides.

As I started to right my paper I took a bit longer then expected to lay an outline for comparing the articles. Each text has different views but its tying these views together in the paper that I know will be challenging. I hope with the outline that I have I can stay true to proper organization while still providing vital comparisons between the three.

Unit 2 Proposal: Arizona Immigration Law

I chose the Arizona Immigration Law for several reasons. First, it's a recent controversy within our country that the country is divided on. I believe this event would be interesting and would be easy to locate many of the arguments for each side as it's fairly specific. Based on the research i've done so far, the opinions aren't necessarily black and white like many believe as their are several arguments in regards to the recent passing of Arizona's immigration law.

For my arguments I plan to search for both primary and secondary sources. Many of the primary sources will be needed so each argument can be analyzed based on facts and statistics. I plan to also use secondary sources mostly to establish the base for my arguments since many are from here. Secondary sources will come often from opinionated news broadcasting such as the O'Reilly Factor and Hardball. My hope is that while researching both sources I will be able to effectively analyze arguments and present them against the knowledge of gained from studying primary and secondary resources.
